Standard leasebacks range from 30 to 90 days. Most residential lenders require the buyer to occupy within 60 days of closing for owner-occupied mortgage qualification, so leasebacks exceeding 60 days typically require written lender consent. Without lender approval, a longer leaseback may violate the buyer's occupancy representation - potentially constituting mortgage fraud for the buyer and creating deal risk for you.
