Should I allow a post-contract inspection contingency?

No - standard NYC practice is for inspections to occur during attorney review, before the contract is signed. A post-contract inspection contingency gives the buyer a free retrade opportunity after you are already bound. If the buyer insists, limit it to 5-7 days with permissible objections restricted to material structural defects only - not cosmetic issues or conditions visible during pre-contract showings.
