Do I need a well water test before selling my home?

Many New York counties require or strongly recommend well water testing before sale, and buyers' lenders often mandate it. Tests typically check for bacteria, nitrates, lead, and other contaminants. A failed well test can delay or kill a deal. Get your water tested before listing so you have time to install treatment systems or remediate if necessary, rather than discovering issues during the buyer's due diligence window.
