What happens if my well water test fails?

Failed well water tests for bacteria, nitrates, or other contaminants can delay or kill a sale. Buyers' lenders - especially FHA and VA - require clean water results. Remediation ranges from shock chlorination for bacterial contamination to installing filtration systems or drilling a new well for more serious issues. Test your water before listing so you have time to address problems without contract deadline pressure.
