What types of liens can block my home sale?

Judgment liens, tax liens, mechanic's liens, and UCC filings can all prevent you from delivering clear title at closing. Federal and state tax liens take priority and must be satisfied before transfer. Mechanic's liens from prior renovation work are common and may require negotiation or bonding to remove. Start your title search early so you have time to cure issues before closing.
