Type II Action
Type II actions are classes of actions determined not to have significant impacts (or otherwise precluded from review) and therefore are not subject to SEQRA review under Part 617, subject to stated exceptions. SEQRA regulations provide a general rule and a list of Type II categories such as maintenance/repair and in-kind reconstruction (unless Type I thresholds are met).

In practice
"Type II" is a high-value classification for operators because it can eliminate an environmental review workstream entirely - but classification must be documentable.
