What is the difference between a legitimate repair request and a re-trade?

A legitimate repair request targets safety or structural issues with documented contractor quotes proving the cost. A re-trade is a psychological tactic using minor cosmetic findings to extract arbitrary price reductions. The test: does the buyer provide specific dollar amounts backed by licensed contractor estimates, or are they citing vague "concerns" to demand round-number discounts? Require written quotes for every claimed defect before discussing any concession.
